Beatrice Cope

d. December 30, 2021

Beatrice Baricuatro Cope passed away at her home in Wentzville on Dec 30, 2021.  She was born in Honolulu HI on Jan 25, 1922. Immediately following the attack on Pearl Harbor in December  1941, she worked in the transportation department at Marine Corps Air Station Ewa until she moved to the St. Louis area in 1946. She worked for Emerson Electric Company for 35 years, meanwhile raising three children and pursuing her passion of learning new things. She belonged to the Henry Shaw Cactus Society, the Hawaiian Club at Washington University, took stained glass lessons, pottery lessons, Japanese language courses. Her passion for gardening led her to grow 'the tallest' sunflowers, 'the largest' tomatoes, and 'the most beautiful' varieties of iris. And she baked 'the best' chocolate chip cookies, which she delighted in bringing everywhere she went. She will be missed dearly for her quirky wit, her enthusiastic attitude, and her generous spirit.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Donna Marie Wolford, and survived by son Sam Bari of Jamestown RI, daughter Tina Spradau of Wentzville MO, grandchildren Charisa Hannan of Danbury CT, Chad Wolford of Troy MO, and Roman Bari of Toronto Ontario CA, as well as five great grandchildren.
