Daniel Walz, 70, of Saint Charles, Missouri, returned to his heavenly home on May 2, 2020 after a valiant battle following a stroke. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Dan was born in Saint Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Pattonville High School, and then graduated from the St. Louis County & Municipal Police Academy. He continued his education, obtained a real estate license, and received an MBA in Business Management & Finance at Lindenwood University. His enthusiasm for learning continuously grew and inspired many.
Dan served his community as a Saint Louis County Police Officer for 15 years followed by a specialized career in Business Continuity, Emergency Response and Disaster Recovery working for various firms such as Mercy Health Systems, Allied Intelligence, and Comair. He enjoyed being with family and friends most of all. Dan had a caring and gentle spirit; a caregiver at heart, he always made sure everyone else was taken care of first. He was a talented and fascinating person, always full of stories and insights. His artistic talents and eloquent writing skills will be treasured forever. He made friends and acquaintances easily with his desire to inspire others, his bright smile, and kind soul. Dan will be dearly missed by his loved ones and friends as we celebrate the fact that he is at rest in the radiance of heaven’s light.
Dan is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy & Scott Christensen; aunt, Shirley Rohn Elmore; nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
Dan is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Andrea Bellagamba Walz; parents, Lester & Betty Rohn Walz; grandparents, and many other family and friends.
A private graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. A Celebration of Life gathering will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family of Daniel Walz wishes to thank the staff of Private Home Care St. Louis and Mercy Hospice.
