Daniel Walz, 70, of Saint Charles, Missouri, returned to his heavenly home on May 2, 2020 after a valiant battle following a stroke. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.

Dan was born in Saint Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Pattonville High School, and then graduated from the St. Louis County & Municipal Police Academy. He continued his education, obtained a real estate license, and received an MBA in Business Management & Finance at Lindenwood University. His enthusiasm for learning continuously grew and inspired many.

Dan served his community as a Saint Louis County Police Officer for 15 years followed by a specialized career in Business Continuity, Emergency Response and Disaster Recovery working for various firms such as Mercy Health Systems, Allied Intelligence, and Comair. He enjoyed being with family and friends most of all. Dan had a caring and gentle spirit; a caregiver at heart, he always made sure everyone else was taken care of first. He was a talented and fascinating person, always full of stories and insights. His artistic talents and eloquent writing skills will be treasured forever. He made friends and acquaintances easily with his desire to inspire others, his bright smile, and kind soul. Dan will be dearly missed by his loved ones and friends as we celebrate the fact that he is at rest in the radiance of heaven’s light.

Dan is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy & Scott Christensen; aunt, Shirley Rohn Elmore; nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

Dan is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Andrea Bellagamba Walz; parents, Lester & Betty Rohn Walz; grandparents, and many other family and friends.

A private graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. A Celebration of Life gathering will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family of Daniel Walz wishes to thank the staff of Private Home Care St. Louis and Mercy Hospice.

Dan was one of the most talented, intelligent, and delightful people I have ever encountered. He genuinely loved to be helpful, kind, and encouraging. Dan had an amazing gift with writing…..he had so many amazing gifts. God called him home and he is at perfect peace in the company of many he loved here on earth.

Dan was s very nice good hearted person. His mother and his sister Nancy were all very kind and accepting of me during my short time among their family. Nancy I am so sorry for your families loss. I have been thinking of you and your brother Dan quite often as of late and I am speechless when it comes to this situation. Stay healthy and safe. Hopefully our paths will cross again. In my thoughts and prayers.

Dan will be so missed. He lived with a true kindness of spirit and his smile and genuine love for people won’t be forgotten. My children were lucky to have known Uncle Dan. Happy he is at rest now in heaven and not in pain or distress.

It’s so hard to say goodbye to this good man. Dan was a gentleman in the true meaning of the word. He had such strength but was always concerned with those around him. He stopped and took time to care. I know he is at peace and in the arms of God. My condolences to his family at this time.

I went through school with Dan; kindergarten through senior year. I remember being in cub Scouts together. I was so happy for him when he and Andie connected while preparing for our 30th high school reunion. They both seemed so happy. Such a tragedy losing both of them so soon. I will miss him.

I had the pleasure of working with Dan after his stroke. Even when he couldn’t ‘talk’ he would talk with his eyes and his smile or lack of when he was mad at me for pushing him hard. He was one the hardest workers I have ever worked with. Once he found his voice he would challenge me every day to understand Dan. His smile would light up the room and I loved his laugh. He would give the therapists back rubs when we had a bad day. Dan thank you for you!!! Bask in Gods Glory
Till we meet again ❤️ Peace and hugs

Reconnecting to all of you through Morgan at BMW, Facebook, and messenger was a joy! We will miss Dan. Prayers for you and your family!

Nancy, sending you my deepest sympathies on the passing of Dan. Dan was such a great soul- so thoughtful, kind and respectful! He was a rare gem! We met while both of us were job searching in the late 90s, he was a great support in the job search. Years later after I moved back to Iowa, we re-connected. Dan was in search of an interior designer to help finish his basement. We began working on his “lodge theme”; he knew exactly what he wanted which made the project so much easier. Sadly, his dream project was put on hold when I had to focus on some health issues. Unfortunately, after that we only exchanged a few messages. Dan will be missed!
