Frederick H. Meyer, Jr.
November 5, 1931 — May 23, 2022
Fred passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He passed away as he lived, quietly and caring for us all.
He is survived by Alice Jean (Hillmann) Meyer, his wife of 70 years.
He is also survived by his daughters: Diana Dye and husband Danny, Denise Meyer, and Laurie Henke and husband Wil. His brother is Richard Meyer and wife Pati. He has 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren (who could do no wrong) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Vicki Lynn.
Fred’s parents are the late Frederick H. Meyer, Sr. and Lillian Rumbuhl Meyer.
The majority of his youth was spent at their acreage on Welland Avenue in Bridgeton working with the pheasants, chickens, bees, vegetable gardens and fruit trees. He and his father were very active in the Boy Scouts of America in the St. Louis area. Fred graduated from Pattonville High School and Central Methodist College. He and Jeanie were married on Christmas Eve in 1951. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, spending months at sea.
He spent his career at Mallinkrodt Chemical Works as a chemist, statistician and in product development and marketing. Fred left his work at work and devoted his time to his family. He gave his family many vacations traveling all over the United States camping in tents, trailers and motor homes. He always said, “Leave your campsite cleaner than you found it” and “If you’re going to do a job, do it right.”
He retired from Mallinkrodt after 37 years, and he and Jeanie ran an antique business for several years. After retirement, they spent many winters in Bonita Springs, Florida where he finally had a chance to golf.
Fred devoted his life to his family. He was a humble hard-working man with a quiet trust in his Savior Jesus.

Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 8:30am at Fee Fee Cemetery, 11210 Old Saint Charles Rd, Bridgeton, MO 63044.
A Celebration of Fred’s Life will be held Saturday, August 13, from 10:00 am - 2:00pm with a Memorial Service at 10:30am and a light lunch to follow.
