He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Martha Orf, his siblings Roger Orf (Lisa Heffernan), Nancy Machens (Dave), and Lisa Sher (Ned). His mother in-law, Roberta Rhodes, and in-laws, Randy Rhodes and Ranette Visagie (Steve) will remember Alan as generous and outgoing. Alan leaves behind many nieces and nephews who have shared special bonds with him.

Alan loved creating and nurturing relationships. He had life-long friends spanning across decades. Alan enjoyed 39 years working for Pepsi-Cola. Many friendships and working relationships that were developed over the years continued to grow into his retirement.

Alan enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. He was a St. Louis sports enthusiast. Alan was an avid fly-fisherman and enjoyed annual trips to Montauk State Park with his children and grandson. He loved the outdoors. He spent countless hours gardening and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. Alan was a devout Catholic and regularly attended mass with his mother. He was a 1973 graduate of Duchesne High School. After working for Pepsi-Cola for 15 years, he furthered his education at Lindenwood, graduating in 1993. This allowed him to progress his career in management with Pepsi-Cola. He enjoyed staying informed on the news, current events, and fluctuations in the market. He genuinely cared about the interests of others and will be deeply missed by many. He will be remembered by all who knew him as fun and comical, with a contagious laugh.
