Our dear mother, Beverly Sue Brown, sadly passed away on March 28, 2025 at the age of 80. She was a wonderful mother and loving grandma. She put all of her heart and soul into raising two boys, mostly on her own. She was overwhelmed with joy every time she saw her granddaughters and loved to spoil them. Everyone in the family called her house “Camp Grandma”.
She is preceded in death by her father Frank Hart, her mother Betty (nee Lawther) Hart, her brother Gary Hart and two sisters and a brother that died at child birth. She leaves behind a loving and grateful family. Her son Allen Brown of Houston, TX, wife Ann-Marie, daughter Audrey Odell and husband Chris, and daughter Amy. Her son Doug Brown of St. Louis, MO, wife Jo Beth, daughters Shelby and Ella. Her niece Jamie Justice of Springfield, MO and nephew Ethan Hart of Odessa, FL. She leaves behind her lifelong “sisters” Judy, Margaret, Barbara, and Dottie. She also leaves behind her neighborhood “girls” Susie, Joyce and Sharon.
She was born at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, MO on July 10, 1944. She graduated from Hilcrest High School in 1962 and attended Drury College. She was an office manager for over 40 years at various businesses in Springfield.
Her pride and joy were her sons, her daughters-in-law, and her granddaughters. She enjoyed taking her granddaughters to Silver Dollar City, White Water, and the movies. She loved swimming with them in her backyard pool. Her interests included watching the Kansas City Chiefs and the St. Louis Cardinals. She was an avid college sports fan as well. She rooted for her granddaughters’ schools which included the Kansas Jayhawks, the Texas Tech Red Raiders, and the Alabama Crimson Tide. She loved taking trips with her “sisters” and going to dinner with the “girls”.
She was loved and cherished by many and will be missed in the days and years to come.
