Dale Schlater, 67, of Patterson, MO, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 24th, 2020, at his daughter’s home in St. Charles. He was surrounded by his immediate family, who loved him dearly.
Dale met his wife Cheryl in high school when they were ages 15 and 17 and they were married in 1976. Their union lasted for 44 years, until his death. Dale was a very family-oriented man and his grandchildren were the light of his life. He worked in the tool and die trade for 30 years and moved from St. Louis to Patterson in 2014, not long after he retired. He and his dear cousin Lonny, with the help of additional family and friends, built the cabin of his dreams near Sam A Baker Park. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his tractor, gardening, building bonfires, telling stories, and most of all, spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Steven Fiske of St. Charles, MO; daughter and son-in-law, Dana Schlater and Chris Ellerbrook of Maryland Heights, MO; three grandchildren, Ryan Fiske, Ashley Fiske, and Ryder Ellerbrook; sister, Donna Kendall of Patterson, MO; brother, Bradley Schlater of Patterson, MO, and many other family members, including nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Elton Schlater; mother, Letha League Schlater; and niece, Robyn Kendall.
