Daniel Lee Schmitt

Daniel Lee "Buzz" Schmitt passed away on August 17, 2024, in St. Louis, MO, at the age of 59. Born in St. Louis on April 20, 1965, he spent his life embracing the spirit of the city and the natural beauty of its surrounding areas.

Dan was known for his carefree spirit and his dedication to living life fully. An amateur songwriter, his love for music was profound, often reflecting his personal experiences and spiritual beliefs influenced by Jesus Christ. He was a passionate St. Louis Cardinals fan, celebrating each season with enthusiasm. Dan's love for his family was deep, though he was a private person, cherishing intimate moments and maintaining a compassionate, giving nature towards all.

Professionally, Dan was an accomplished welder and found joy in painting, a skill that paralleled his meticulous and creative nature. His hobbies included music, collecting various memorabilia, painting, and gaming, each providing him with a unique outlet for his diverse interests.

Dan is survived by his father, Donald Schmitt, Sr., and his siblings: Donald Jr., Kathleen Schmitt Kernebeck, his twin David, Dianne Schmitt Renfrow, and Samantha Schmitt Kemper. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lynne Cleghorn Schmitt Schaeffer, and his siblings, Michael Schmitt and Patricia Schmitt Stoker.

The family will honor Dan's life in a private ceremony. His memory will be cherished by those who knew him as a man who embraced life with zeal, cherished his loved ones, and left a lasting impact on his community through his personal and professional endeavors.
