Daniel H. Thornton

Daniel Harold Thornton, 70, Baptized into the Hope of Christ's Resurrection on 11/3/22.

 

Daniel was born in St. Louis, MO on December 30, 1951 to the late Irene and Oliver Thornton. Beloved husband of the late Cynthia L. Thornton (nee Westmoreland) for 51 years; Dear father of Jennifer (Brian) McCullough, Heather (Darrin) Sharp and Daniel (Daina) Thornton; remembered and honored grandfather of Makenzie and Alex Francis, Maddison (Bowen) Girardeau, Haley and Daniel (aka Butthead) Thornton and Nicholas and McKenna Sharp.

 

Dear brother to Oliver Jr. (Luella), Geraldine Gousetis (late Richard), Thomas (Judith), Milldred Collins (Kirk), James (Glenna), Judith Necker (late James), Dorothy Donovan (late George Sr.), Edward (Marilyn), Mary Ellen Cahill (James), John, Patrick, Timothy (Kathleen), David (Rebecca), and the late Arthur, late Joseph (Paulette), late Michael, late Kathleen and late Earl.

 

Godfather to Thomas Thornton, Kirk Daniel Collins, and George Donavon Jr.

 

Cherished brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend.

 

He was a proud member of the Plumber and Pipefitters Union Local 562 for 46 years.  He was also an avid supporter of the North County Labor Movement and member of the Florissant Elks Club.

 

He served as Director of the Board for the Metro-North Fire District for many years.

 

He was loved by many and respected by all.

 

Services will be held for both Cynthia and Daniel at Hutchens - Styger Funeral Home,  675 Graham Rd, Florissant, MO.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 4-8 pm

Chapel service will be held the following day, Friday, November 18, 2022 at 10:30am.

 

A lunch reception will follow at the Florissant Elks Lodge,16400 New Halls Ferry Road, Florissant, MO 63031.
