Don will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, Biopy (grandpa) and napping buddy to his favorite four legged companion Cody. He was always there ready with a kind word and helping hand. Don loved spending time outdoors camping with his family and hunting or fishing with his son and hunting buddies. Don proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1964-1968 followed by a 43 year career with UMB Bank of St. Louis
Born Jan. 1 1946 in Vienna Missouri to the late Angela and Donald Lape, Don was preceded in death by his sister Mary Ann Watkins. Don is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Becky Lape; his daughter Natalie Lape of Brooklyn, New York; and his son Nicholas (Jenna) Lape, with their children: grandson Weston John and granddaughter Sutton Nicole of St. Louis. He is also survived by his siblings: Brother Bob (Bobbie) Lape of Texas and sisters Betty (Randy) Bryant, Pat (Blaine) Pennington, Bonnie (Joe) Brown, Barb (Wayne) Glover, and Peggy (Dick) Hoatson of Kansas City; brothers in law, Chris (Karen) Surgener, Mark (Mary) Surgener, Matt (Shannon) Surgener, Scott (Ali) Surgener and sister in law Debby Surgener of St. Louis, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
