Earl P. Barban, Sr. (81) of Elsberry, MO passed away on July 23, 2020 in Florissant, MO.
Earl was born in St. Louis, MO to Earl and Frances Barban on April 13, 1939. He attended high school in Jennings, MO. After graduating, Earl was drafted into the US Army. Proceeding an honorable discharge, he worked as a mechanic at several auto shops and eventually owned and operated Barban Auto Services, specializing in foreign car repair for many years. Transitioning from this, Earl worked at Passport Transport as a shop foreman and then to boat engine repair at Quiller's Outboard.
After retiring, Earl lived at his clubhouse on the Mississippi River and enjoyed fishing, boating, and the company of his friends on the river. He was a great father, mentor, and friend to everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Earl is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Barban. He is survived by his children, Earl (Chel) Barban, Jr. and Robert (Carrie) Barban, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held by immediate family on the Mississippi River at a later date.
