Edna Anne Dowson

Our beloved Mother, Edna Ann Dowson, passed away in Clayton Missouri on 9/13/24, at 88 years old after a brief illness.

Edna had a passion for Tennis, Gourmet Cooking, Gardening, Sewing and Travel. She had a relentless drive for perfection in everything she did. Born in Liverpool, United Kingdom in 1935, she experienced WWII and the Battle of Britain as a child in a family with five other siblings. She was grateful for every day, yet learned to also appreciate the finer things in life. Edna volunteered for Charities such as DBE (Daughters of the British Empire). She was very fond of music from classical to the Eagles, Tom Jones, and the Beatles.

Edna married her husband Tony (deceased 2019), in Toronto, Ontario, but spent 14 years living in Montreal, Quebec, 2 years in Karachi, Pakistan, and the past 45 years living in the Philadelphia suburbs of St. Davids and Devon, PA.

She had (3) children: Michael (deceased), Eric (61), and Angela (56). She has 2 grandchildren from Eric: Gillian(27) &; Katherine(25), and 3 grandchildren from Angela: Nicholas(23), Alexander(20) and Spencer(17).

More recently she lived in Clayton, MO, near her daughter, Angela.

Edna was known for her adventurous spirit, love of travel, and dedication to her family. She was loved by her family & friends very much and will be missed.

 A celebration of her life will be held privately in the near future.
