Eleanor Marie (Heitman) Hoelting, 97 years of age, passed on July 26, 2020 at her home in Elsberry, MO.
Eleanor was born on March 26, 1923, in Old Monroe, MO, to Frank and Zita (Witte) Heitman. She had four brothers who proceeded her in death: Cecil, Larry, Albert and John.
Eleanor married Ralph Hoelting in May of 1942. They raised their six children in St. Charles, MO. She and Ralph built a house and retired to their property in Elsberry, MO, in 1978. They were married for 57 years before Ralph passed in 1999.
Eleanor was devoted to her husband and family. She loved hosting holidays, cooking meals and home decorating. She kept a detailed list of each family member’s food preferences so that when they visited, she could have all of their favorites on hand. She loved to garden and could be found outdoors tending to her roses, tomatoes, flowers and fruit trees. She also loved to crochet. In her later years, Eleanor spent much of her time making small crocheted gifts for children in need, and a granny square quilt for each one of her daughters and granddaughters. Eleanor was a long-time member of St. Robert Catholic Church in St. Charles, MO, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry, MO.
She is survived by her four beloved daughters: Mary Lee Johnson (husband Jerry) of Grand Rapids, MI; Susan Hoelting (husband Dan Walsh) of Pollock Pines, CA; Diane Hoelting of Elsberry, MO; and Peggy Hoelting (husband Jeff Barnard) of St. Louis, MO; as well as two daughters-in-law: Lynn Hoelting of St. Charles, MO; and Vivian Hoelting of Sandy, OR. She was preceded in death by sons Ronald Hoelting (2010) and Robert Hoelting (2012), and her son-in-law Christopher Saxe (2015).
Eleanor adored her 11 grandchildren: Lisa Brinkmann (Dave), Laura Hoelting, Tracy Campbell (Kyle), Scott Warren (Rebecca), Ryan Hoelting (Kelly), Lynda Offerman (CJ), Jamie Carpenter, Robert Hoelting, Erin DeLaney, Abigail Carpenter and Casey Hoelting; 13 great-grandchildren: Jeremy Brinkmann (Jessica), Jordan Carpenter, Evan Brinkmann, Jayla Carpenter, Spencer Campbell, Brody Campbell, Jillian Hoelting , Addysen Hale, Rainn Hoelting, Elliott Hoelting, Jaxson Taylor, Olivia Offerman and Austin Offerman. She even got to meet her first great-great-grandson Brayden Brinkmann born in April of 2020.
