Gordon Merle Harms of Hollister, MO moved to Heaven on July 14, 2017 at the age of 81. He married Katharine Mary (Crawford) Harms on April 24, 1971. He was the son of Frederick Herman Harms and Mabelle Helen (Ludwig) Harms, both deceased.
Gordon and Katharine have four sons: Jeffery Allen Harms, Raymond Frederick (Chris Zeaton) Harms, Peter Jonathan (Annie Forsberg) Harms, and Andrew Stephen (Kesley Neve) Harms. They also have nine grandchildren: Dakota Harms, Alex Harms, Reagan Harms, Nathan Harms, Judah Harms, Sally Harms, Avivah Harms, Helen Harms, and Mabel Harms (deceased). In addition, they have one great grandchild: Jake Harms.
Gordon was also preceded in death by two sisters: Lois Hays and Sandra Estes, and four brothers: Donald, Lyle, Darrel, and Galen.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Gordon served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962. He had many occupations over the years, but primarily had been a farmer and a professional driver, working as a chauffeur right up until a few weeks before his passing. He served his family, his community, and his church family. He was a soul winner and loved the Lord with all of his heart.
The family is being served by the Cremation Society of Missouri. A Homegoing Celebration will be held, according to Gordon’s wishes, at the family home in Hollister, MO. Further details regarding the Homegoing Celebration may be obtained by emailing the family at gkharms2002@gmail.com.
