Janice J. Alt, 81, of Maryland Heights, Missouri passed away early Saturday morning, August 19th at her home.
Cremation services are being taken care of through the Cremation Society of Missouri. A celebration of her life will take place at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2447 Fowler Avenue, Overland, Missouri, at a later date.
Janice was born August 18, 1936, in St. Louis, Missouri and was the daughter of Hudson and Erby (Jennings) Riley. Janice was a 1954 graduate of Wellston High School in Wellston, Missouri. Janice was married to Marvin Alt on July 3, 1954, in St. Louis. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to her sweetheart of 63+ years and raising their three children. Some of Janice’s favorite pastimes were spending time with family, bird watching in their yard, as well as traveling and camping in their RV.
Janice’s survivors include her husband, Marvin, and three children, Terrie (Larry) Walsh of Chesterfield, MO, Joel (Diane) Alt of Maryland Heights, MO, and Carla Tosh (Gary Agre) of Arnold, MO. Also surviving her are seven grandchildren, Sarah (Dave) Marting, Annie Walsh (Clay Kuehne), Daniel (Anna) Alt, Lauren (Wesley) Welch, Ryan Alt, Zachary and Rachel Tosh; seven great-grandchildren, Aidan Nash, Keira and William Marting, Samantha and Broeder Alt, Isabel and Gwenyth Welch; two sisters, Mata (Ray) Calkins and Sandra Austin and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were two brothers, Guy and Crandall Riley and one sister, Juanita Whitworth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2447 Fowler Avenue, Overland, MO 63114.
