Jerome W. (Jerry) Krueger
Jerome W. Krueger passed away on May 3rd in St. Louis, MO.
Mr. Krueger was born April 22nd, 1935 in Chicago to parents Waldemar and Julia (Krzos) Krueger.
He was a graduate of Northwestern University with a degree in mechanical engineering; moving to the St. Louis area in 1967, working for Robertshaw Controls, and then for Cummins in the 1970’s in sales.
A natural salesman who always held a vast knowledge of products he sold, with the ability to persuade and inform customers.
He had been employed as a sales rep for Outdoors Inc. of St. Louis; possessing an immense working knowledge encompassing all types of firearms.
Mr. Krueger was the consummate sportsman, being an avid hunter, fly fisherman, and wilderness adventurer.
As a hunter he was a master archer, and an expert with rifle and shotgun. This allowed him the ability to seek out upland game, fowl, and waterfowl all across North America.
As an angler, he vigorously pursued his quarry from Alaska to Patagonia. His favorite range being the rivers of Northern Lower Michigan in the Baldwin, Grayling, and Roscommon areas. He was an Orvis and Sage endorsed fly-casting instructor, who had regularly taught fly-fishing.
The wilderness adventurer in him made him as comfortable in the deep woods as he was in his home. He was always prepared for any environment or climate.
Other interests were gourmet cooking and photography; and in younger days tennis, figure skating, and ballroom dancing.
He was also a beekeeper and a gardener.
He was preceded in death by his parents Waldemar in 1978 and Julia in 1988, and by brothers Waldemar Jr. in 1968 and Paul W. in 1993.
Mr. Krueger is survived by sisters Geraldine (Geri) Clark of Oroville, California and Linda Krueger of Old Hickory, Tennessee and by brother Robert (Bob) of Ingleside, Il., and numerous nephews and nieces.
“Jerry” will be missed by any and all that knew him.
