Jlselore S. Janitch

Jlselore "Jlo" Janitch, age 80, of Maryland Heights, MO, passed away on September 6, 2023. She was born on May 28, 1943, in Magdeburg, Germany, to the late Willi and Erna Scherer. Jlo was preceded in death by her brother Hansjorg, and her husband Floyd.

Jlo was a joyful and generous person who loved to travel and spend time with close friends. She was a certified scuba diver who loved diving on tropical reefs. She vacationed in many places around the world and enjoyed learning about local culture and traditions.

Jlo was a reading teacher, retired from the Ritenour school district. She found joy in seeing former students who remembered her fondly. Hugs were usually exchanged during these encounters. Creating heartfelt connections with her students was the "best part of the job".

Jlo belonged to several different denominations of Christian churches over the years. Her faith was an important part of her life.

No funeral will be held for Jlo. Instead, she is participating in the Washington University School of Medicine Body Donation Program, as per her wishes.
A memorial service will be announced at a future date.

In memory of Jlo, donations can be made to any organization that benefits underprivileged children or animals, causes that she was passionate about.

Jlo is survived by her sons, Cliffton (wife Michele) and William, and grandsons Jesse and Brendan.
She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
