Joel Sidney Kalemis born 1/10/1934 died peacefully 3/17/17 surrounded by love. Preceded in death by his mother Julia Berman, his father Fenis Clampitt, adopted father Paul Kalemis, and son, Paul G. Kalemis. He is survived by sons, Keith M. Kalemis, Michael C. Kalemis (Jennifer), his grandchildren, Tommy, Olivia, Ella, and Sadie, and his dear cousin and friend, Nada Krauss (David).
Joel was a loving father, grandfather, and proud member of the US Army. After serving in The Korean War, Joel and lifelong friend and confidant, William Cohen established Suburbia Gardens, becoming an icon in the St. Louis area for his modern designs and contemporary vision.
Joel was well known as a shrewd businessman, a charismatic and intellectual associate, and a kind and giving friend.
He leaves behind many people who love and will miss him dearly, friends for a lifetime, and more lady friends and romantic interests than we can afford to print.
Private family burial to be held at Jefferson Barracks.
