John "Jack" Allgire, 91 years old of Overland, MO, died at his home on December 17, 2024.
Jack lived a long and fulfilling life. He had a large circle of friends dating back to elementary school. He was quick witted yet never mean. He always had a joke and was a friend to everyone.
Jack served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War and proudly guarded the peace talks at Panmunjom. He was a lifelong teamster member and was proud to be a union man. He was very devoted to the teamsters, but he once had to cross the picket line to pick up a present for his niece.
Jack is survived by his longtime friend, Dennis Barton; two nephews, Ken (Jan) Tooley, Jerry (Debbie) Tooley; three nieces, Barb Clemons, Karen (James) McDonald, and Sharon (David) Hoven; he is also survived by seven great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rosalie Allgire, and two sisters, Betty (Ron) Tooley, and LaVerne (Nick) Kricho.
Jack was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back and he never met a stranger. He made this world a better place and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
John "Jack" Allgire will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barrack National Cemetery.
