On the morning of September 25, 2015, John's spirit was released from his worn body. He passed away peacefully while sleeping, just after he was visited by his son Thomas; at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. John was 56 years old.
John was born in the city of St. Louis, Missouri on January 23, 1959 to parents Pauline and Thomas. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and one heck of a Master Mechanic. He will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father and a proud patriot.
John is survived by supportive and loving son Thomas Jay with grandson Michael, daughter and son-in-law Angela & Emir Fazlic, step-daughter Samantha with granddaughter Jaylyn Marie, and long time friends Donna and Mike Bellanca. John was a brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many. He is dearly loved and will truly be missed.
A special thanks to his meeting group at the VA Hospital in Poplar Bluff, MO for their encouragement, support and friendship.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate John's life at a Memorial Mass at Church of the Reformation-Lutheran in Affton, 7910 Mackenzie Road on Friday, October 9th @ 9:45am. His remains will be placed in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery immediately following his memorial service for a Military Honors ceremony.
Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate John's life in their own special way.
Instead of flowers, John would hope that you will do an unexpected act of kindness for some unfortunate soul in his name.
