Julaish "Jay" H. Ellis Jr.

Ellis, Julaish H Jr AKA “Jay” born 11/1/1942 recently of St. Charles, Mo.  Previously of Ruidoso, NM died on May 1, 2023

Jay was born in St. Louis Mo.  He was married to Janet Whiteley August 7^th, 1985.  They were married for 37 years and Lorna Sherman June 9^th, 1962, for 16 years. 

Jay worked as an owner operator for 57 years before retiring to enjoy his home in the mountains and his family.   He also served in the USAF.  He enjoyed his grandchildren, human and canine alike.  His dogs were his children too.

Jay is survived by his 3 children Deirdre Ellis, Darryl Ellis (Karen) Treasa Austin (Billy).  His grandchildren Jeremy Stumbaugh, Kyle Stumbaugh (Adriane), Brandon Stumbaugh (Melissa) Danielle LaBarge (Bryan) Joel Vinson, Josh Henson, Ashleigh Ellis (Drew) Clayton Schmitt, Scott Wood (Nicole) Taylor Ellis, Kailey Ellis, Brittany Barker and 18 Great Grandchildren; dear brothers and sisters Albert Ellis (Sherry) Juanita Robins, Ivan Ellis, Winona Noble (Richard), Sherman Ellis (Tina), Margaret Meyer (Greg)

He is preceded in death by his parents Julaish H and Verna Ellis Sr., Beulah Null, Son Ryan Ellis, Brothers Bobby Ellis, Richard Ellis, and Grandson Brian Wood.

A Celebration of life will be held @ 10 am at Diamond music hall on Thursday May 18, 2023.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association or the Humane Society.
