Kathleen “Kathy” Orcholski, 71, joined her beloved sheltie Spencie in heaven on October 2, 2021. Kathy was born in Milwaukee, WI.
She traveled the country as a flight attendant with TWA/AA, where she retired after 36 years. It was working in the airline industry that she met her lifelong sweetheart, James "Jim" Ellis. They shared over 25 years together.
Kathy was truly one-of-a-kind and enjoyed the simple things in life. You could often find her volunteering her time as a puppy raiser and “whelper helper” with support dog organization, Duo. She enjoyed spending time outside, gardening, and going camping, where she could build the best campfire around. You would never catch her without her coupons, and her duck collection was limitless.
Kathy will be greatly missed by those she left behind, including her sister, Maribeth Spencer; her niece, Keri (Levi) Harrington; her partner Jim Ellis; and his children, Melissa (Steve) Thess, Jason (Molly) Ellis, Stephanie (Nick) King, and Beth (Matthew) Carr; as well as all of her family and friends.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, October 16 at Dames Park in O’Fallon, MO from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. Casual dress. In honor of Kathy's favorite color, attendees are encouraged to show off their purple
The family of Kathy sends their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Heartland Hospice and Abbey Senior Center for all their love and care.
