FROST, KEVIN R.
Age 45. Suddenly on April 15, 2017
Kevin was the beloved husband of Mandy Frost (nee Ish) and loving daddy of Allyson Ryanne Frost. Cherished son of Greg and Carol Frost (nee Schmidt). Loving grandson of Patricia and the late Frank Schmidt, and the late Dorothy and Russell Frost. Brother of Nathan (Heather) and Cameron Frost, Sarah Cooper, and the late Ryan Frost. Son-in-law of Ed and Karen Ish. Brother-in-law of Ken Ish (Shilpi). Kevin was a loving nephew, uncle, cousin and friend.
If asked what sort of things interested Kevin, the answer might come as a surprise to some. As a youngster, he loved going to church and memorizing bible verses. As he grew, he became an avid reader, sculptor, artist, movie buff, and music lover. Though he played no instrument, his wealth of knowledge and appreciation of nearly all styles of music was as impressive as his CD collection.
His ability to instantly quote a line from a favorite film (at just the right moment), clearly illustrated his point of view, was perfectly timed, and marked him as a great story-teller and conversationalist. He was a gifted, deep thinker with an extraordinary IQ and remarkable memory. He often expressed his thoughts and feelings through chalk sketches, pottery, and at times, writing.
His love of books was nurtured at an early age when his father began reading the “Chronicles of Narnia” at bed-time. Kevin could hardly wait to settle into bed each night and silently fixate on every single word. Whenever the reading time ended for the night, he always asked, “Can we do one more chapter?”
We will miss him terribly. Yet after Kevin’s all-too-brief time here with us, it is only fitting to offer a comforting quote from the final book in his beloved Narnia series . . .
“I have come home at last! This is my real country! I belong here. This is the land I have been looking for all my life, though I never knew it till now...Come further up, come further in!”
