Florissant

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, and father, Lawrence “Leroy” Mundt, who left us on June 8th, 2024. He was 36 years old.

“Leroy”, as he was fondly called by friends and family, was born on May 23rd, 1988 to Jim and Kathy Mundt in St. Louis, Mo. He grew up in Florissant, where he graduated from McCluer High School. He went on to attend Job Corp, where he mastered his profession in welding and made countless friends. He later pursued his passion for welding at National Cart.

Larry was a hardworking and dedicated person who excelled in his career as a Welder. He was known for his exceptional skills and professionalism, and he was respected by his colleagues and friends alike.

Despite his busy schedule, Larry always made time for his family and friends. He was a loving and caring soul, who was always there for everyone. He had a great sense of humor and always knew how to put a smile on everyone’s face.

In his free time, Larry enjoyed making everyone laugh, and he was always eager to share his knowledge and experiences with others.

Larry is survived by his parents, Kathy Fenn Mundt and Jim Mundt, his siblings Christy Jaques, Margaret Thiessen, and Jimmy Mundt , and his son Emmett Hopwood. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

An open house memorial to celebrate his life will be held on June 23rd 1:00-5:00 at Sioux Passage Park 17930 Old Jamestown Rd, Florissant, MO 63034 at the Black Buffalo Shelter. Pulled pork and burgers will be provided. Feel free to bring any additional dishes or snacks to share, and drinks for yourselves. In lieu of flowers, there has been a go fund me account to help with final expenses.

Rest in peace, dear brother. You will always be in our hearts and memories.
