Linda Helt

Linda S. (Riley) Helt, 75, of St. Paul, Missouri, died on November 10, 2023, with her loving family by her side. Linda was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 3, 1948, to Louis (Sam) Thomas Riley and Helen J. Riley. Linda married the love of her life, Bill, in 1968. In 1978, Linda moved to the O’Fallon/St. Paul area where she remained until death. While in that area, Linda spent much time watching her sons play sports, spending time with other spouses for first responders, and working at Schnucks, meeting, greeting, and laughing with scores of customers, especially first responders.

In retirement, Linda refocused her attention to spoiling her three beautiful granddaughters and watching Cardinals baseball, enjoying the Cards’ good times and lamenting their bad times. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Louis (Sam) Thomas Riley, her mother, Helen Jean Riley, and her niece, Kimberly Helt Nipper. Linda leaves behind her husband of 55 years, Bill, her sons, Marcus (Karie) and Matthew (Miranda), her grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, and Bella, her loving big brother, Richard (Sandy) Riley, and many other nieces and nephews, including Vicki Wayne, Ron Riley, Cassandra Helt, and Rebecca Lohman.    

The family would like to specifically thank all the ICU nurses and staff at Barnes – St. Peters for their amazing care during Linda’s last three weeks and all the nurses and staff at Davita Dialysis in Lake St. Louis where she spent the better part of 14+ years. Davita’s wonderful care allowed Linda to enjoy the last 15 years to the fullest. In lieu of flowers, Linda’s family would prefer donations to First Free Will Baptist Church in O’Fallon, 841 S. Woodlawn Avenue, O’Fallon, MO 63366. Linda’s family will hold a celebration of her life in the next few months.
