Linda '˜Samm' Janine Middendorf (nee Walusz) of St. Charles, Missouri, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday August 18, 2016 at the age of 68. Loving wife of Richard Middendorf; devoted daughter of the late Bernard and Ruth Walusz; loving mother of Shanon (Allen) Tuell, Jamie (Richard) Weber, Jeffrey (Jennifer S.) Middendorf, and Brian Middendorf; cherished grammy of Michael, Amanda, Marcus, Taylor, Kelsey, Richie, Will, and Kate; dear great-grandmother of MaryJane, Kaiden, Eric, Landry, Hayleigh, Mason, Owen, and Jayce; dear sister of the late David and Brad Walusz. Dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Samm proudly supported her husband's volunteer work as Commander of the American Legion Hall, St. Charles, Missouri. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and playing cards and trivia with family and friends. She loved road trips with her husband to Iowa, Ohio, and most especially her favorite destination, Virginia Beach. She was a devoted army wife, housewife, and served as a scout leader for her children. She loved her cats, and her beloved companion, Baby, will miss her dearly. Samm truly cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was loved dearly and had a funny sense of humor like no other. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She will be remembered by a memorial mass at St. Cletus Catholic church, where she was a member, on Monday August 22, 2016 at 9:30am. There will be a celebration of life luncheon at the St. Charles American Legion Hall immediately following.
Donations may be made to the American Legion Hall of St. Charles so that they may continue their efforts to offer low cost meals to the local needy and elderly.
