August 21, 1944 — October 24, 2015

Louis S. Schmidt of Affton, Missouri died October 24, 2015 at The de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis, MO. Louis was born on August 21, 1944 to the late Louis O. Schmidt and Jean (nee Bridegroom) Schmidt. Louis worked for many years in the accounting department of St. Louis Steel and recently retired from Schoellhorn-Albrecht Machine Co, Inc. of Crestwood, MO. of Fenton, MO, where he worked from August, 2001 until January 2015.

Louis loved to do woodworking in his spare time as well as building and modeling his own model train sets, landscaping and all. He leaves behind his loving wife, Carolyn (nee Donohue). His son, William Bryan (Chandra) of Lehi, Utah; grandchildren: Will Schmidt, Marcus Schmidt and Anja Schmidt also of Lehi, Utah. His son, David Christopher Schmidt of Tampa, Florida. His daughter, Anna (Micheal) Serfas of Albany, New York. Two stepsons: Wm. Michael Arnold of Corona Del Mar, Ca. and Christopher M. (Debbie) Arnold of Fenton, MO. He is also survived by his 7 step-grandchildren: Ellie & Will (Fenton, MO.), Adam & Audrey Arnold (Corona Del Mar, CA.) and Jordan, Justine, Jacob Arnold and just newly added a great grandson, Hunter Arnold, all from Texas. Lou's biggest regret was not being able to visit with them as much as he'd have loved to. But distance, health & timing it just wasn't possible.

Lou was also an avid pet lover. He's currently leaving behind with Carolyn his beloved 2 cats. "Precious", a 14 year old Calico adopted around age 1 and "Popcorn", a 5 year old Torbie & white cat, adopted at the age of about 2 years. They keep looking for their Daddy and can't understand why or where he is!

A private graveside service was held at Sunset Memorial Park & Mausoleum in Affton, MO. on Monday, November 2, 2015 @ 11:00 a.m. Services performed by Bishop Jason Rich and a very special memorial speech given by Louis' oldest son, William Bryan Schmidt.
