Marlene I. Powers

Marlene Ida Powers Age 82 passed away July 4^th, 2018. She is preceded in death by her (parents) Stephen C. Powers and, Margaret Caroline (Powers) Fiala, (sister) Jeanette (Green) Powers and,  (brother) Stephen J. Powers. She was born June 26, 1936 at Christian Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

She attended Central High School in St. Louis then went onto a secretary school to optian a life long job at Union Electric/ Ameren. Retired and, her final years of retirement traveled to several countries and, enjoyed life to the fullest. Her love of art was shared by several friends through OSSAIS a senior group of art enthusiast. She was well known for her unique cards for “everyone” from family to, friends for birthdays and, christmas can’t say she missed anyone . A style of her own….Aunt Marlene had 15 nieces and, nephews from her sister and, brother. She resided at Brookdale Indepentent Living since Feb 2017 until June 2018. Her failing health lead her to Evelyns’ Hospice House in Creve Couer, Mo.

In lieu of flowers and, or donations can be sent to: Evelyn's House (Hospice Care) #1000 North Mason Rd. Creve Couer, Mo. 63141. A private celebration of life is planned for close family and friends in July.

 I read somewhere that sorrow hollows out our hearts so that God can fill them with love, and joy. Our pain-scarred but joy-filled Aunt is a living example of that bit of wisdom.
