Martha W. Smith

Smith, Martha Wathen (nee: Musselman), age 77, of Creve Couer, Missouri, died on February 19, 2024.

Martha was born in Louisville, Kentucky and graduated from Presentation Academy and continued to Eastern Kentucky University. Thereafter, she lived for many years in University City, Kirkwood, and Creve Couer, Missouri.

She was married to Stephen Smith on May 1, 1993, to whom she has been married for over 30 years. She trained therapy dogs for many years, was a fabulous homemaker for her family, was a member of the Christ the King Parrish choir, and an accomplished bridge player.

Martha is survived by her spouse, Stephen, her sons, David and John Durbin, her stepdaughter, Kelly Smith; her grandchildren, Amanda, Olivia, Jack, Campbell, George, Oona, Sam, Reid, and Brooklyn; dear sister of Mary Ann Airhart (nee: Musselman) and her spouse Edward Airhart of Louisville, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Agnes Musselman.

A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, Des Peres, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a local therapy dog organization.

Martha wishes to express her gratitude to the many healthcare providers who cared for her for so many years and to the wonderful staff at Mercy Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
