Mary Margaret Simmons

April 29, 1949 — November 25, 2024

St. Peters

Mary Margaret Rickman Simmons passed away peacefully at her home in St. Peters, MO, on the morning of November 25, 2024, with her husband and daughter by her side.

Mary was born on April 29, 1949, to Harry and Eileen Rickman in St. Louis, MO. She grew up in Bridgeton, MO, and graduated from Pattonville High School in 1967. She met the love of her life, Stuart Simmons, in 1976 and they were married 8 months later on December 11, 1976. Mary passed just shy of their 48th wedding anniversary.

On October 12, 1978, Mary and Stuart welcomed their daughter, Kerry Simmons Robbers into the world. Mary stayed at home to raise Kerry and then returned to work at Huey’s Honda in the early 1990s. Huey’s was a second family to the Simmons’ and employed Stuart, Mary, and Kerry for many years until the dealership was sold in 2009 and Mary retired.

Mary’s grandchildren were her greatest joy. She was a loving grandmother to Reagan Robbers (9) and her two “bonus” granddaughters, Alexis Robbers (31) and Isabella Carroll (18).

Mary is survived by Stuart; Kerry; Alexis, Isabella and Reagan; her brother Terry Rickman; and nephew Michael (Marla) Rickman. A mom of one, but a friend to all, Mary had “lots of sons and daughters from other mothers” who also brought her a great deal of joy. She was a spiritual person and was looking forward to joining her loved ones in the afterlife. Mary will be remembered for her smile, her contagious laugh, her unmatched crafting ability, and her huge heart.
