Michael Andrew Bates

Michael Andrew Bates, 64, of Hannibal, Missouri passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Pathways Group Home in O’Fallon, MO. Mike loved to hunt and fish and was an avid bird watcher. He also loved people, dogs, and nature.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas A. and Eva L. (Sebers) Bates, grandparents, Thomas O. and Ida M. (Farell) Bates, Richard Sebers, and Eva P. (Long, Sebers) Morris. Three nephews, Andrew D. Greenawalt, Pat Greenawalt Jr., and Shane Bates, and brothers-in-law, Pat Greenawalt and Bill Young.

Mike is survived by siblings, half-brother, Tony Bates and wife Paula of Virginia, Pamela M. Johnston and husband Joe N. of Lake St. Louis, Vicki L. Greenawalt Dunn and husband Bob of Quincy, IL, Marty Bates, David Bates, Barbara K. Jones and husband Greg, and Teresa Young, all of Hannibal. Also, Jeffery S. Bates and wife Pebbles of Montana; 19 Nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews; two aunts, Rhea (Sebers) Stroud of New London, and Patty Ann (Bates) Pifer of Hannibal.
