Mike was born on August 23, 1941 and entered into rest on August 26, 2024 at the age of 83 years. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Audrey Heidenry, his brother James Heidenry (Donna), his spouse Roberta Sterling and former spouse C. Teresa Heidenry (Reilly) of which he is survived by his four loving children Christine (Jim) Laughlin, Tim (Maureen) Heidenry, Stephanie Heidenry, and Cindi (Steve) Wendling and his devoted brother-in-law Tom (Charlotte) Reilly. He enjoyed spending time with his twelve grandchildren Carissa, James, Brendan, Steven, Zach, Jake, Meredith, Josh, Jenna, Conrad, Kate and Emma.
Mike was born and raised in the South St. Louis City, Holly Hills area. He was a staunch advocate of the Catholic Jesuit Academic Institutions graduating from St. Louis University High School where he lettered in three sports (baseball, soccer and football). He then graduated from St. Louis University with a degree in History where he also lettered in baseball.
Mike’s career included 20+ years with General American Life Insurance and later investing in real estate and housing construction in the Washington, MO area.
He had a lifelong passion for sports and after college continued playing baseball, soccer, touch football and softball. He always embraced the opportunity to coach his children and in later years was always thrilled to watch his grandchildren compete on the fields while also stressing the importance of academic excellence.
A private mass will be held in the upcoming weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Louis University High School are appreciated.
