Harter, Sr. Ray Kenneth of St. Louis, MO passed away to eternal life on Thurs. Dec. 1, 2016 at the age of 86. Beloved, wonderful husband of 62 years to Mary Lou Harter nee: Downey; loving father of Ray Jr. (Sharon), Mary Jane (James) Egan, Mary Alice (Stephen) Robben, James (Cindy) and Scott Harter; cherished Grandfather of Ray III, Colleen, Mary Christine, Riley, Ryan, Mary Patricia, James Jr., Anne, Brendan, Claire, Kevin and Daniel. treasured Great Grandfather of Adelaide, Emma, Libby, Anthony and Quaide; beloved son of Arthur and Adele (Ray) Harter; dearest brother of Arthur, Jr (June) Harter. He is also survived by uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Ray graduated from Western Military Academy in Alton, IL. He attended the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy.
Married to his lovely bride Mary Lou Harter at Little Flower in Richmond Heights on May 22, 1954. Ray was a Reserve Seabee in the US Navy during the Korean War. He retired from Merrill Lynch after over 40 years as an Investment Advisor. A 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, Moolah Shriners at Webster Groves Lodge #84 Masonic Temple, St. Louis Shamrock Club, and Log Cabin Poker Club. Ray was active in the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC), serving as a Board of Governor & Treasurer of the Wall Street Table. He was passionate about his handball & watching football on Sundays. He always had something positive to say, was loved by all and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated on December 17, 2016 @ 11:30 AM at Ascension Catholic Church, 230 Santa Maria Drive, Chesterfield, MO 63005.
