Hurd, Richard “Dick” Eugene, 91, of St. Charles, MO died on January 19, 2024.
Dick was born in Pine Bluff, AR on January 1, 1933. His family survived the depression through owning a donut shop. He moved to Froid, MT as a teenager to work on a potato farm and graduated high school at Froid High School.
After high school, Dick joined the Navy from 1951-1955 during the Korean War as an airplane mechanic. Dick spent most of his career at TWA in a variety of positions from a ticket agent to customer service until he retired in 1995.
Before retirement, Dick was an avid traveler, certified diver, and sky diver. His love of photography and the arts brought beauty and creativity into the lives of those around him. In retirement, he poured his wisdom and love into shaping the lives of his granddaughters, teaching them valuable life skills and nurturing their appreciation for the world around him.
Dick is survived by his son, Rick (Vickie) Hurd; his grandchildren, Michelle (Brad) Harris, Angela (Adam) Keagy, and Kimberly (Shawn) Moore; great grandchildren, Matt Keagy, Josh Keagy, Curtis Harris, Corrin (Aaron) Sarquist, Nick Keagy, and Rolen Moore; his sister Anne Smith; his brother, Julian Hurd.
He is preceded in death by his parents L. William and Ione Hurd; wife, Genevieve Hurd; sister Betty White.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am at Bible Baptist Church with a visitation beginning at 10:30 am; followed by the burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 2:00pm on Monday, January 29, 2024. Flowers may be sent to Bible Baptist Church.
