Richard James Morris (Rich; Richy Rich; Poppy; Grandpa Kabooboo) was 65 when he died of liver cancer at Barnes Jewish St. Peters Hospital, with his family surrounding him on January 29, 2016.
He was born at Fort Bragg, NC on February 23, 1950.
Beloved son of the late Willard James Morris and the late
Jacqueline Lee (Lonnecker) Scamperino. Loving brother to Drew Scamperino,
Mark Morris, Susan Morris, and Kathryn Breitkreutz.
Loving father to Autumn Morris of NC, Brandon James Morris of Fortuna, CA, and Dacia Rene Morris Contreras of Garden City, KS. Grandchildren he cherished are Isaiah, Lilliana, and Elijah. He lovingly considered Lindsay Jordan Pearson his daughter along with grandchildren Tra, Skylar, and Penelope.
He served two tours of duty in Vietnam on the Navy ship Hancock.
Rich lived in St. Peters, MO with his girlfriend of 14 years, Dawn Jordan. He worked as an artist and interior designer until he became disabled. Jesus was his best friend. His favorite prayer was that it wouldn't take anyone else as long as it took him to find that out.
A celebration of his life will take place at Harvester Church of the Nazarene,
3115 McClay Road, on Saturday February 6, 2016 at 4:00pm with a casual dinner buffet.
