Konopka, Richard G “Rich”

Passed away on March 5, 2023 after a brief illness at the age of 77. He was a devoted husband and best friend to his wife Vicky Cordes Konopka for 56 years. He was a great uncle to his many nieces, nephews and a great brother-in law.

He served in the US Army in the 70’s. Rich worked for the Sprinklers Fitters Local 268 for over 30 years. He enjoyed golf and traveling to play at different courses. In his younger years he loved riding his horses along with playing and managing the West Alton slow pitch soft ball team.

Rich is also survived by his sister Janice Rayfield of Springfield, MO. Rich preceded in death by his parents Richard and Ida Konopka, his loving niece Lynne Knollman Davis. Donations can be made to Most Holy Trinity Church, St. Louis or Evelyn House.   The family will Celebrate his Life on March 18 from 2-5pm at Bogey Hills Country Club.
