McArdle, Rita Faye (nee: Hubbard), 76, of Lake St. Louis, MO died on the 27th day of February 2023.
Rita was born in Elsberry, MO. She graduated from Winfield High School and went on to nursing school where she obtained an LPN degree.
Rita married Dennis McArdle on December 23, 1972, and raised three children during their 36 year marriage.
Rita worked as a nurse in the Saint Louis area caring for people from the moment of birth, with her years in a hospital nursery, to peoples last moments, with her years working at a nursing home, and all the stages in between, even working as a private day nurse for a time.
Rita retired young and spent time fishing, camping, and watching her grandchildren. She then moved to Florida where she added dancing and seashell collecting to her regular activities. Rita was always up for a card game or a trip to the casino and enjoyed time travel, especially cruising. She moved back to Missouri in 2011 where she continued these activities while including time with her great grandkids.
Rita is survived by her siblings, Arbrey Eugene (Patty) Hubbard, Linda Mahn, Marvin (Patricia) Hubbard, and Kenneth (Connie) Hubbard; her three children, Candy (Jeff) Hamilton, Christina Lopez, and John (Sam) McArdle; her grandchildren, Stephane (Coleman Kappelman) Doerhoff, Michael (Kayla) Doerhoff, Nicholas Doerhoff, Cassandra (Sean) Emery, Christopher Doerhoff, Brianna Hamilton, Victoria Hamilton, and Mackenzie Lopez; as well as 7 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arbrey and Etta Hubbard; her beloved husband, Dennis McArdle; and her in-laws, Raymond and Mary McArdle, Richard McArdle, and Michael McArdle.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Connection Christian Church, 1332 Feise Road, O'Fallon, MO 63368. Following the service, a lunch will be provided.
The family of Rita wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful caregivers at BJC Hospice for over a years’ worth of friendship, care, and love.
