It is with overwhelming sadness that the family of Tanya Jo Hoppe announces her passing on Saturday, July 14th, 2018 at the young age of 56. Tanya will be forever remembered by her husband of 36 years, Kent and their children Melissa (Bret), Sarah, (Matt), & Kyle (Ashley). Words cannot express what an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend she was. Her infamous words “Gotta be a giver” accurately describe her selflessness, even throughout her courageous battle with cancer.
Tanya will be lovingly remembered as “Meemaw” to her five grandsons, Hunter, Austin, Brady, Kaeden, & Ace. She will also be forever remembered by her parents Joe & Martha Patton and four younger brothers Tim (Geri), John, Jeff and Jamie (Anne), along with one niece, numerous nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Tanya’s most treasured role was being a mother and “Meemaw”. She had endless energy and talents in the kitchen, sewing matching outfits for the family, planting/pruning flowers, crafts/decorating and completing home improvement projects. Her loving and strong willed personality will not be forgotten. We know of no one else that could embrace four brothers and five grandsons with such grace, while thanking God every day for giving her two daughters.
A Celebration of Tanya’s Life will be held September 8th at Hobos Pub at 200 Main St., St. Peter’s, Missouri 63376 from 2-6 pm.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to honor her love of children. Search Tanya Hoppe at
