Virginia Werner

Virginia Maye Sorensen-Werner (nee: Martin) passed away peacefully on June 1, 2018 at the age of 98. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. CD and Mary Martin; her sister, Faye Good; and two loving husbands, Harry L. Sorensen and Alton M. Werner. She is survived by her 2 children, Mark Thomas Sorensen and family, and Linda Lee Sorensen and family. She is also survived by the loving step-families of Alton Werner.

Virginia was active for 40 years in the founding and directing of children’s choirs for many churches. She was known for rescuing stray dogs. She was an avid Bridge player and became an ACBL Junior Master. She will be sorely missed.

A graveside service will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Greenmount Cemetery, 1701 South 12th Street, Quincy, Illinois 62301.
