William Thomas Hood, Sr.

William Thomas Hood, Sr. 'Tom, Rooster' passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on February 5, 2016 in Lake St Louis, MO. Born in St. Louis on June 29, 1944, he was the son of the late William and Bessie (Boswell) Hood. He graduated from Ladue High School and then attended Drury College where he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. Tom enjoyed his weekends camping and spending time with family and friends. He was Past President of the Optimist Club of Santa Clarita, CA and former member of the Rotary Club of St. Louis.
Tom is survived by his wife, Mary Lou and children Raymond Dardis of Santa Clarita, CA, Kelly (Geoffrey) Davis of Kingston, MA, Dawsie (Stephen) Pontello of Lake St. Louis, William Thomas Hood, Jr. (Rita) of Santa Clarita, CA and Amy (Steve) Huffman of Ballwin, sister Betsy (Robert) Jennings of Ballwin and brother Jack (Rebecca) Hood of Des Peres, grandchildren, Danielle and Michael Dardis; Matthew, Jason and Christopher Davis; Paige (Roy) Burns, Stephen, Jr. and Chase Pontello; Emily and Katherine Hood; Alexandra and Daniel Huffman. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Shirley and granddaughter Caroline Hood.
A private celebration of life will be held Friday, February 12, 2016. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Hospice Services:
